Jacque Montgomery is a veteran journalist and experienced media relations consultant. She most recently served as press secretary to Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. An Emmy award-winning journalist, Jacque has more than 14 years as a news producer and manager under her belt. After leaving TV news, she developed a career in media relations where she specialized in health care, higher education, and government.

Jacque has deep experience in crisis management.  She has coordinated media responses to high-profile crises such as line of duty deaths, the spread of fatal illnesses, wildfires, and mass casualty incidents. Jacque managed the reputation of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and University of Colorado Hospital following the Aurora Theater shooting where the hospital received 23 patients and the shooting suspect was a student. During the months that followed, Jacque managed international media response and earned the respect of her colleagues and the news media.  One reporter was so impressed with her work, he wrote Jacque’s boss to say Jacque earned the one thing many in media relations don’t - journalists’ trust. Jacque also offers counsel to executives who want to build their public profiles with strategic engagement plans.

Montgomery Media Solutions launched in January 2019. Jacque spent the first six months of the year as a senior consultant with Rockford Gray, a media training and crisis communications agency, before becoming truly independent to pursue her commitment to serve nonprofits, government agencies, institutions of higher education, and small businesses. She held regular media training for health care and government leaders while at the University of Colorado and the State of Colorado and has provided media training and crisis communications workshops for the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs – Certified Public Managers Program, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Colorado’s Women Foundation, Argus Consulting in Kansas City, American Gas Association, 9Health and more.
